Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States from 1933-1945, and the man who led the USA through the Great Depression and World War II, and who suffered from paralytic polio, once observed:
"Physical strength can never permanently withstand the impact of spiritual force."
FDR, whose paralytic polio caused him to suffer from a debilitating lack of physical strength, would have known and understood this better than most people.
It's also quite biblical.
In 1 Corinthians 1:25, Paul writes to the church of God in Corinth about how "the weakness of God is stronger than human strength."
I believe that FDR, who was born on this day in 1882, would have underlined that verse in his Bible.
We should, too.
