Perseverance is hard. It may mean going beyond the point of comfort, ease, and understanding in your life and ministry, and entering into a valley of pain, difficulty, and uncertainty.
Hebrews 10:35-36 (TNIV), however, tells us that we must persevere: "So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised."
Perseverance leads to reward. Pastor John MacArthur, in his Study Bible commentary on verse 35, says that those who were the recipients of this epistle were "closer than ever to the eternal reward. It is no time to turn back."
The same holds true for us today. It's no time to turn back.
Life and ministry may be bludgeoning you these days, but stand firm. Hang on. Don't quit. Don't give up. Don't throw in the towel. Persevere.
Your reward is coming. Soon and very soon.
It's no time to turn back. It's time to persevere.
