Success & Perseverance

Winston Churchill once defined success as "going from failure to failure without a loss of enthusiasm."

Perseverance plays a key role in achieving success. It is rare for a person to achieve success right away, be it in business or ministry or missions or church planting. Abraham Lincoln lost six political elections before he was elected as the 16th President of the United States. Henry Ford and Walt Disney both declared bankruptcy before achieving phenomenal success in their respective fields of automobiles and entertainment.

James 1:3-4 (TNIV) says that "the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

Don't give up or quit if you are starting something new and you're not achieving success - however you define it - as fast as you would like. We are always in a hurry, but God never is. Persevere. Keep moving forward. Don't throw in the towel. God-honoring and God-glorifying success is on the way.
