Who You Could Be

Author John Eldredge has written, "Your life can be described as a long and sustained assault on your heart by the enemy who knows who you could be and fears you."

Imagine that: the enemy actually fears YOU!

Peter called the enemy "a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8), but in fact the enemy may be nothing more than a timid kitten instead of a lion when he sees what great things you can do in God's name and for His kingdom.

Paul quotes Isaiah 64:4 when he writes in 1 Corinthians 2:9 (TNIV), "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived - these things God has prepared for those who love Him." In Ephesians 3:20 (TNIV), Paul talks about "him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." And in Philippians 1:6 (TNIV), Paul remarks that "he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

God has big plans for you - more than you could ever conceive or ask or imagine. He knows it - and so does the enemy. Don't fear the enemy.

Know that he fears you.
